About
Hello and welcome to the Fly Fishing Reporter! My name is Ken Sperry and I started fly fishing at the age of 9 and have been addicted every since. Growing up in Connecticut my home water was the Housatonic River. I now reside in Pennsylvania which has some of the best trout fishing in North America. For me though, I love the thrill of exploring new waters. My primary pursuit are those beautiful creatures we call trout but I'll basically fish for anything that has fins and swims!
Good Quality Fly Fishing Information
Finding good information about where to go, how to get there, where to stay, what gear you will need, and the latest fishing report is not always easy, especially if you are looking to get away from the crowds a bit. While this has certainly got easier with the advent of the internet, it has also gotten more challenging in some respects because there is almost too much information out there.
America's Best Trout Streams
So I created this site as a place where you can easily locate quality information about some of the Best Fly Fishing Destinations in America and most importantly how to get to them. Right now we are primarily focusing on mapping America's Best Trout Streams. You can access all our stream maps, fishing reports and get the information you need to plan your next trip using our fly fishing trip planner. If you know of a river or stream you think should be on our map or would like help us in our quest to map America's Best Trout Streams contact us - we'd love to hear from you.
Enjoy!

The site looks great. I will be traveling out to PA again soon. I have lots of questions to ask you and would love to catch up.
Say hello to the family and have a safe New years.
Nate
Thanks Nate. Let me know when you are down this way and we can get together. Hope you guys have a great New Year!
Nice web page. Found it in my Google “alert” for brook trout. I have fished the Middle Prong a number of times and always enjoyed it. Although it shuts down when it gets really cold (that is my excuse anyway).
Mike
Thanks for the feedback Mike. My boys and I are looking forward to fishing the Middle Prong and doing some exploring in the park. I hope Spring wakes those little brookies up!
I live in Wyoming and appreciate you including Wyoming and Y’stone NP on your site.
I look forward to the upcoming updates as we gladly anticipate the coming of spring.
Wyotyer – Absolutely! YNP is one of my favorite places and I am currently working on mapping streams in the greater YNP area. I will be uploading USGS stream gauge data for some of the rivers in the park to our America’s Best Trout Streams Map and trip planner later tonight. If there are particular rivers you would like mapped let me know. Thanks for commenting!
Hi Ken,
My name is Brian McGeehan and I am an outfitter in Bozeman, Montana. I provide extensive information on rivers in Southwestern Montana on our website as well as an updated fishing report and thought that you might like to link to our site on your reports page, or rivers pages: http://www.bigskyangler.com .
Thanks!

Great idea. Would love to help you get maps etc. of the Bitterroot. Live in Utah but have a place there and it is a wonderful tailwater with lots of fun floats.
Thanks Brian, I’ll check out your site and put up some links to your reports once I get the river reports together for your area. I am also looking for some nice photos and will credit you for any provided. Thanks again!
Thanks David, that would be great! I’ll get in touch with you and we can coordinate getting some maps together.
