About

Hello and welcome to the Fly Fishing Reporter!  My name is Ken Sperry and I started fly fishing at the age of 9 and have been addicted ever since.  My goal in life coming out of high school was to "retire at 40 and fish around the world." Well, 40 has come and gone, I'm still working like a dog and I haven't fished the world. I still dream though.

Growing up in Connecticut my home water was the Housatonic River, a place I still hold near and dear.  I now reside in Eastern Pennsylvania and am slowly learning to appreciate the small limestone streams that grace the local landscape.

I love the thrill of exploring new waters but, like many, I don't get to do that nearly enough. So I started this website to help keep the dream alive. When not on the water, I research and map places I'd like to fish someday (mostly in the US). I also enjoying writing about the funky world of fly fishing and fly tying.

If you find the site useful or have suggestions for destinations you'd like to learn about, drop me a note and let me know.

Enjoy!
