Little Juniata River (Rothrock State Forest)

Little Juniata River access in the gorge section of the 624-acre Rothrock State Forest. Here the Little Juniata River snakes it way through a 1.6-mile-long gap it has carved through Tussey Mountain. Tussey Mountain rises 1,500 feet above the river on each side here, the scenery rivaling anything that the Keystone State has to offer. In some places through the gap the Little Juniata River is narrow and swift and in others wide and placid. This a very beautiful and remote stretch of the Little Juniata River. Little Juniata River (Spruce Creek Access)

Little Juniata River Access at Spruce Creek A great access point at the confluence of the Little Juniata River and Spruce Creek. Parking is available in the church parking lot. Please be considerate and park as far away from the church as possible and on Sundays consider finding another place to park. Private property is posted (no trespassing) on both sides downstream below the mouth of Spruce Creek and it is vigorously defended by a private fishing club. The Little Juniata River is however navigable and by Pennsylvania law is open to the public provided you keep your feet wet. [...]

Lehigh River Trout Survey

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) has been stocking fingerling rainbow and brown trout throughout the Lehigh River for a few years now. In the spring of 2009 the PFBC initiated a study to determine the contribution of hatchery fingerling trout stocking to angler catch from the Francis E Walter outflow to confluence Sandy Run and the confluence Sandy Run to relic dam above Palmerton.
