Orvis Helios Switch Rods

Tom Rosenbauer explains what exactly a switch rod is in this short demonstration video. A cross between a traditional (single hand) fly rod and a spey rod, a switch rod is great on big water when you need distance to reach the fish. The Helios switch rod is made in a ranging of sizes from a 5-wt suitable for trout up to an 8-wt that makes a great saltwater surf casting rod.
