[Fly Tying Video] The Brassie: A Classic Midge Pattern

The Brassie is a simple, and simply deadly, fly. Traditionally thought of as a midge pupa or caddis larva imitation and tied for trout, this fly's most important attribute is its ability to sink quickly through the water column and get down to the where the fish are.

One of the best things about tying midge patterns and the Brassie in particular is they are so quick and easy to tie. Don't be fooled by the simple appearance of the Brassie Q - it is a highly effective midge pattern. Sometimes the simple things in life are best!
