Little Juniata River (Rothrock State Forest)

Little Juniata River access in the gorge section of the 624-acre Rothrock State Forest. Here the Little Juniata River snakes it way through a 1.6-mile-long gap it has carved through Tussey Mountain. Tussey Mountain rises 1,500 feet above the river on each side here, the scenery rivaling anything that the Keystone State has to offer. In some places through the gap the Little Juniata River is narrow and swift and in others wide and placid. This a very beautiful and remote stretch of the Little Juniata River.

Parking: Limited parking is available at the Bureau of Forestry parking area located at the end of Mountain Road off of Barre Road.
