Little Juniata River (Spruce Creek Access)
Little Juniata River Access at Spruce Creek
A great access point at the confluence of the Little Juniata River and Spruce Creek. Parking is available in the church parking lot. Please be considerate and park as far away from the church as possible and on Sundays consider finding another place to park. Private property is posted (no trespassing) on both sides downstream below the mouth of Spruce Creek and it is vigorously defended by a private fishing club. The Little Juniata River is however navigable and by Pennsylvania law is open to the public provided you keep your feet wet. Some areas stretching through the club property may make this difficult (too deep or heavy to wade) so be careful. A few beautiful riffles and runs down through this river reach make it worth attempting at times - just stay in the water!
