Troutfest 2010 – Great Smoky Mountains Fly Fishing Expo

What started out several years ago as a few tables with a couple of local vendors has grown into one of the biggest fly fishing festivals in the country - certainly in the southeast. Troutfest is held each year by the Little River Chapter of Trout Unlimited to raise money for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Fisheries Department and Youth Aquatic Educational Programs.
Troutfest 2010 - Where, What & When
The event will be held in Townsend, Tennessee, known as the "peaceful side of the smokies", starting on Friday, May 14th with a banquet and auction. Tickets for this event are $50 and only 400 will be sold. The rest of the weekend is free.
The fly fishing expo on Saturday (May 15th) and Sunday (May 16th) will include fly casting and fly tying demonstrations, book signings, and exhibits by leading national tackle and gear manufacturers, fly shops, artists, and more! Fly fishing legends Joe Humphreys, Lefty Kreh, and Bob Clouser will be on hand all weekend and offering free seminars. Not a bad deal.
The event will be held rain or shine.
Enjoy!
